6 x 6 Mini album

Tis the seasoning for making gifts. I'm making a mini album for my grandmother from the to the moon collection pack by Fancy Pants. These papers are so adorable and bright. You do not have to go with a robot or outer space theme with these. I have used a variety of pictures from this summer so you can be the judge.

Don't put that there!!

I make a lot of mistakes in my scrapbooking. I learn from everyone!! Like today even though it is a "duh" kind of moment I mistakenly inked my page.

The mistake

See the red stripe circle, freshly inked, I set it on my paper!! Why? I couldn't tell you. When I'm inking I'm always thinking be careful don't get ink all over your page. Sometimes it happens.

The fix
I had these stars cut out anyway to go on this layout. They weren't going there but I think it looks pretty good. If you make a mistake DON'T THROW OUT YOUR PAPER. That would be a huge waste. Just add a sticker, use the same color ink for a stamp, or stick a journaling card there. Journaling looks good almost anywhere on a page.

Well this page is almost finished so I hope to post it soon. Most of the embellishments are fussy cut from echo park paper so check back soon!!

Boys will be boys Layout #2

You won't see any smiles from my boys!! My oldest is going through a "no taking a picture of me" phase so when I take a picture I have to trick him and my middle son follows suit (middle son in pictures above).

I did some crafty cutting with this layout to get the most out of this paper. Here's some pictures:

I used my Fiskars paper trimmer to cut inside of the papers. This is easy to use because the sliding cutter can lift up so you can easily slide the paper under to cut where you want. I did this to both pages so I have a plethora of paper left over for another page.

The Scrappiest Sketch # 134

Page one of a double layout.

The Scrappiest Sketch #134

This is a sketch from the http://thescrappiest.blogspot.com/ I love this sketch I would have to say that using sketch is the biggest time saver EVER!!

I did some crafty cutting to strech this paper check back soon for the details!!

Tip # one!

You can't use liquid glue!! It will warp these papers!! I have always used liquid glue, I am hoping that when I put my pages into a scrapbook they will even out, they're not unusable I'm just not using liquid glue anymore. I had to go to my LSS (local scrapbook store) To get adhesive and almost dropped to the floor when I had to had over seven dollars and some change for it!!
This is me being sad about my warpped pages and seven dollars!!

Since I was school shopping anyway last weekend I thought I'd check out the price at a big book store, it wasn't cheaper. I assume it would be more expensive at a lss apparently that mind set is not always correct!
Of course, if you have a coupon you can get it for half price but if you live in the booneys like me those opportunities do not often arise.

Now to be fair I had read before that these type of papers would warp with liquid glue but me being the optimist that I am I had to see for myself!! It warps save your self the sad face and opt for the scrapbook tape (or maybe a glue stick)!!

I've been looking into some new ways to make inexpensive embellishments with paper so check back soon!!

If It's not fun you're not doing it right!! Layout #1

This was a really fun layout it's my DS2 Playing outside on a sunny day with his water table making mud!! I like doing two page layouts that's just how I role. The sun is a Journaling tag but I don't like my hand writing, it sits empty. The stripes of paper are from Cosmo cricket snorkel collection boarders I had two of these page., I cut the boarders then inked around all the edges that's my favorite thing to do with ink. The title "If its not fun you're not doing it right" was also on this paper.

Above: Close up of rub-on, echo park element sticker (wale), and Cosmo Cricket sticker (flower)

Warning rub-ons are addictive!! I like black ones such as this one from Kasiercraft, black goes with everything!! I believe this saying (90% mischieff, 10% dirt) was made for this picture. I messed up a little but couldn't bring myself to cover it up, so it's not perfect but what is?

Fancy pants: To the moon chipboard stickers

Love chipboard it gives a great 3-D image to the page. Most chipboard are now stickers but I have a few brands and they do not seem to have enough stick!! So I also glued these down so they would stay. I inked the stars in green too.
